Monthly Newsletter Fall is here even if the calendar hasn’t quite caught up. This month brings beginning of the new school year, the annual release of the new Gingher embroidery scissors, a new trunk show, the JXS Ornament issue, and the wholesale online needlework show-Harvest Market Hop. It also is the end of the 2017 NYS Fair where Jackie Ayres (our framer) and Mary Crego were both first place winners in the needlework competition. Congratulations! 2018 STITCHING FRIENDS RETREAT

Hampton Inn

The 2018 Stitching Friends Retreat "Grandma’s Sewing Basket" will be held at the Hampton Inn & Suites, Carrier Circle on March 16th-18th featuring Beth Seal, popular designer from Summerhouse Stitche Workes who will be teaching an exclusive class for us. Redwork "Apple" Saturday, September 23nd 10-12 $35 This traditional redwork piece is done using a Bird Brain Design pattern which is transferred to muslin for stitching using DMC floss.   Redwork Apple Towel
 

Counted Canvas "Fall Quilt Block" Saturday, September 30th 10-12 $45 Stitched on 18ct Mono Canvas using #5 Perle Cotton, this Laura Perin design will teach the basics of working on canvas. You should have some experience with counted work and you will need to bring a set of stretcher bars & tacks to class.   Fall Quilt Block
 

Silk Gauze "Random Threads" Saturday, October 7th 10-12 $45 Learn to work on 40ct gauze using the tent stitch with one strand of floss. You will need prior experience with counted work. Magnification is recommended.   Random Threads
 

Beginning Hardanger "Scissor Fob" Saturday, October 14th 10-12 $45 This work is done on linen with two sizes of DMC perle cotton. You will learn to stitch Kloster blocks, cut linen fibers and do fill stitches. Experience working on linen is necessary.   Scissor Fob
 

Beginning Linen "Give Thanks" Saturday, October 21st 9-11 $40 You will learn how to stitch over two linen threads on 28ct linen.   Give Thanks
 

Beginning Cross Stitch "Fruit Bowl" Saturday, October 28th 9-11 $35 This class will teach the basics of cross stitch on 18ct Aida, discuss terminology, tools used in cross stitch, and types of fabric.   Fruit Bowl
