I will be taking orders by email ONLY (jan@astitchersgarden.com . I will check it daily by 12 noon EDT. If your order is in stock I will pack and send it the same day. I will not be taking special orders or doing ANY ordering until the shop re-opens.

May, 2020

Monthly Newsletter This will be a very different newsletter than usual. Instead of telling you what the shop has that’s new and the events planned for the near future, we need to look toward fall.

Even though May is bringing flowers and GREEN back to Central NY (finally), inside things haven’t changed that much. We are still at home most of the time and only leaving for necessary errands.

The good news is that cross stitch supplies are considered essential in my book, so I do go to the shop several times a week to check the mail and to fill orders that you are emailing (jan@astitchersgarden.com) to me. I am happy to ship or arrange for pick-up of any necessities and so do appreciate those of you who have already placed orders during the shop’s closure. It is encouraging to know that stitchers are continuing to work on their projects, and for many of us, enjoy the therapy that it provides. It helps to remember that the current status is temporary and someday will be able to join together again to stitch.

chrysanthemums I have managed to re-schedule our stitching weekend that was planned for this month. It was formerly known as Spring Stitching Weekend, but will now be held at the East Syracuse Best Western November 13th-15th and now known as Fall Stitching Weekend. Those of you who previously registered are still on the list unless you notify me that you are unable to attend on the new dates. If your check or credit card that you sent with registration has not been processed, then you are on the waiting list. More details will be coming when we get closer to the event date.

  • A Colaboration by Heartstring Samplery and The Scarlet House — Berry Bowl Sampler
  • Summerhouse Stitche Workes — The next flower in the Ladies Garden Journal: Hollyhock

With Thy Needle & Thread has designed a sampler for fall release called Coming To America, The Women Of The Mayflower commemorate the 400th anniversary of their voyage.

The sampler kit will include:

  • sampler chart
  • sampler label for the back of your work
  • Pilgrim lady needle magnet
  • free bonus chart (and a specially designed piece of backing fabric which is a reproduction of passenger William Bradford’s handwritten journal)
  • custom printed project box measuring 6 1/2 x 10 3/4 x 1 3/4

This is a LIMITED EDITION KIT. I have a list of orders started. If you would to purchase a kit, email me jan@astitchersgarden.com to be placed on the list. I MUST have all orders by mid-June. There will be no opportunity for re-order. The kits will arrive in mid August and the adventure begins on September 6th, which is the date the Mayflower left England.

It will continue for 66 days, which is the length of time they were at sea. Depending upon the status of the shop at that point, we will try to have regular get-togethers for those who would like to do a Stitch Along to compare projects, answer questions, encourage each other, and perhaps indulge in a few English treats while we stitch.

The designer has given us an idea of how much fabric and floss will be used, depending upon what count fabric you decide to use. The stitch count is: 125 wide by 422 high. The kit does NOT include fabric or fibers. Those must be purchased separately. That being said, it would be helpful to me if , when you place your order you tell me what count fabric you would like to stitch on so that I can order appropriately to make sure I everything you will need in stock. You may opt for kit only.

The fabric used for the sampler is available in 32ct, 36ct, & 40ct. The price of the kit alone is $35.

Coming to America

Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day, Happy Memorial Day, and Happy Stitching, Jan
